You Don’t Have to Be Fully Healed to Help Someone Else

What if the part of yourself you’ve spent years trying to fix is also the part that has taught you how to understand another human being?

On this episode of Mondays with Bev & Paul, we explore the ancient story of Chiron, the wounded healer, and the powerful idea that we don’t have to be perfect—or completely healed—to make a difference in someone else’s life.

Chiron was known for his wisdom, teaching, and knowledge of healing. Yet he carried a wound he could not heal himself. His story became an enduring symbol of the wounded healer—the person who understands suffering not simply because they have studied it, but because they have experienced it.

We all carry something.

Maybe it’s grief.

Maybe it’s fear.

Maybe it’s rejection, disappointment, loss, or an experience we wish we could erase.

We often think we need to fix ourselves before we can help someone else. But what if that’s not true?

What if healing isn’t about becoming a person without wounds?

What if it’s about becoming more aware of our wounds—and allowing what we’ve learned to deepen our compassion for others?

People Don’t Want Your Perfection. They Want Your Truth.

In this conversation, Bev and Paul explore what it means to be honest about being human.

You don’t have to have all the answers.

You don’t have to have your life completely figured out.

You don’t have to stand above someone else and tell them how to heal.

Sometimes the greatest gift is simply being willing to be present.

This is one of the qualities that makes Bio-Touch so meaningful. Bio-Touch doesn’t require us to diagnose, analyze, or pretend to have all the answers. It offers a simple way of expressing care, compassion, and human connection through touch.

You Were Never Meant to Be Fully Healed Before Helping Others

The wounded healer isn’t someone who glorifies suffering or believes that being wounded automatically makes someone a healer.

Rather, it is someone who becomes conscious of their own humanity.

Our experiences can teach us empathy.

Our struggles can teach us compassion.

And the places where we’ve been hurt can sometimes help us recognize pain in another person.

So perhaps instead of continually asking:

“What’s wrong with me?”

we can sometimes ask:

“What has my life taught me?”

And:

“How can what I’ve learned help me be present for someone else?”
